Does anyone remember this place I bet there would be a Queue if this re-opened
Taken on the 28th of May 1990 (bank holiday hence not a lot of activity)

What's the orientation of that photo? How does it fit in with what we might recognise now?

Just had a look on Google Earth to see if there is still any evidence of the High Moor Pit - nothing there I'm affraid. There are some very odd looking crop circles behind the large farm/industrial site at Norwood though at 53 degree 19' and 1 degree 17'. Sorry couldnt find a link or a picture grab to show it - but it's worth a look.

The photo of High Moor colliery is roughly north to south,south being the top of the photo the car park on the left is approximately where the unused football pitches are now,the four settling ponds were just by the side of the footpath that runs from the side of Comberwood farm to Barlborough.

That was about what I reckoned, just based on where the car park was (I assumed it was close to the road out towards Pebley). Thanks though - great photo.
